I hate all things size Zero...!

Pathetic progress report on the Lozenge socks here...turned the heel and went a teeny bit further...

I am totally never going to knit anything on size 0's again! I would much rather do some algebra and move it up to tolerable size 1's or ideal size 2's or even ultimate fantasy size 3's. I'm having the worst time keeping my tension even with these size 0's - a problem I've never had before. Also, my hand totally cramps up with minimal knitting, so progress is incredible slow. Argh! Is there anything I can do to make this last stretch of sock go faster? Any advice from you wonderful sock knitters out there?

  1. No good advice here, but they're beautiful and totally worth it! Keep going!

  2. They are really pretty socks, you're making me think of digging out my abandoned lozenge socks...

As for the needle size issue, I started with size 2s or 3s but after a few pairs of loosey-goosey socks I decided to step it down to 1s and couldn't be happier. Are you a tight knitter? Maybe you should just step up to 2s and see how it goes!

  3. They are worth the effort! I like 2.25mm the best, but it depends on the yarn. I use 2mm too for socks. But I know what you mean! Started some socks today! ;o)

My gosh, these socks are going to be so amazingly beautiful - but I can so understand you getting unnerved with the 0's - it's terrible to work with them indeed!
I've been doing a couple socks with needles this size too and encountered the same problems with tension as well as hands cramping up - unfortunately I didn't come up with any other solution than to never work with 0's again ;(

  6. I'm pretty much against US 0s and 1s because of the hand cramping. I hope things get better... the socks look fantastic!!

  7. Keep plugging, because those socks are absolutely gorgeous. You are almost there!! (Keep in mind that I don't think I have ever think anything on needles less than 3 or 4's)

    happy knitting :)

  8. I'm totally with you. I switched from my normal 2s to 1s for the current pair of socks and I can definitely tell a difference. I have a pair on 0s languishing on the needles. There's no pressure to finish them either because I never want to make socks on 0s again!!!

Keep at it, you're almost done! You'll have the best socks ever at the end.
